ASA 101 & 103

Medicine for Sailors Course (Meets USCG standards)

In this course, we teach novice sailors the techniques to safely operate a sailboat and navigate in coastal areas. This course also covers basic boat systems, sailboat terminology, auxiliary engine operation, docking, sail trim, anchoring, safety, seamanship, basic navigation and weather interpretation. 4 days/4 nights.

Course fees include: Lodging aboard, ASA certification fees, meals aboard (except one dinner where you are free to explore downtown on your own)

We can add a basic life support, first aid, and/or medical tips for sailors course at the beginning or end.

ASA 103 & 104

Medicine for Sailors Course (Meets USCG Standards)

In this course, we teach you to skipper a sloop-rigged auxiliary powered keelboat in moderate winds and sea conditions. We also cover basic boat systems, sailboat terminology, auxiliary engine operation, docking, sail trim, anchoring, safety, seamanship, navigation and weather interpretation. We will conduct a multi-day cruise including provisioning, emergency operations, and systems.

Course fees include: Lodging aboard, meals*, ASA certification. *Exception: You will have one night to explore downtown and have dinner off the boat on your own.

We can add a basic life support, first aid, and/or medical tips for sailors course at the beginning or end.

This course is the full enchilada! ASA 101-104 in just one week. What’s more, you learn how to take care of emergencies on board including medical issues for your crew members.

Course fees include: Lodging aboard, ASA certification fees, one year ASA membership, meals aboard (except two dinners where you are free to explore downtown and have dinner on your own)

We can add a basic life support, first aid, and/or medical tips for sailors course at the beginning or end.
